7 Stairs Canyon<\/strong><\/a> is unique in Eastern Europe in size and dates back from the Mesozoic. This was originally a seabed (Theus) where it is said that the dinosaurs lived. The geologists sais that the bottom side of the canyon, which is yellow, dates from the Jurassic and the top of it, from Triassic. 7 Stairs Canyon is a gorge located in Piatra Mare mountain. It has a length of 160 meters and an altitude of 1,050 meters. Gorge consists of seven metal stairs with heights between 2.5 and 15 meters which turns into waterfalls when the volume of water rise.<\/p>\n

The canyon is more spectacular in winter than in summer. Due to various metal deposits in some parts of the canyon, every spring that comes out of the canyon freezes and becomes icicles of different colors like green, yellow or red.
\nAlso here is the largest zip line in the country, with a total length of 2.1 km and 23 routes for both adults and children. Ropeway starts from the canyon, follows the forest road, passes the cottage and crosses 7 Stairs at several points. The air in this place is fresh and healthy because the canyon is over 1,000 meters high and the noise of water is the perfect combination for psychological recovery.<\/p>\n

The access to 7 Stairs Canyon is extremely simple from city Timi\u0219, on National Road 1 (marked with yellow band). Tourists reach the canyon in about one hour by easy walking. The road is accessible even for children. No need for special equipment, but mountain boots are recommended because trails can be slippery especially when it rains. The canyon is open between 10.00 and 17.00 and the ticket costs 10 lei.<\/p>\n

Legend says that the a trip to 7 stairs Canyon is a test for the women who wanted to marry. Legends handed down from generation to generation says that young boys put their girlfriends in two challenges. One was to make a walk to the canyon to see if they are physically strong and will not give up. Then, after they climbed up the stairs together, they stood there one night over.
